Lesson 31- You Can Do Some Things Better Than Lawyers
When you become an independent Case Broker, not being a lawyer is actually a good thing. You can do a couple of things in your profession that no lawyer can do.
First, you can contact people that have been injured and offer them some possible help with their financial situation. You have seen all of the lawyer ads and they are, for the most part, actually allowed by the state bar association in which the lawyer is a member. What you should not ever see, however, is a lawyer making direct contact with a person that has been injured and then offering them the lawyer’s services. If they do, they are in violation of their state’s bar rules and if the Bar finds out, the lawyer is punished. If the lawyer doesn’t’ learn their lesson and makes enough improper contacts, then there goes their license to practice law. You, as a non-lawyer, don’t have to worry about that.
Second, you can inform your prospective Applicant that you may have a way to get them an advance payment on their injuries very quickly. Lawyers definitely can’t offer that. Sure, they can talk about big payoffs in some distant future, but you can tell the Applicant that, if they are approved by the advance company, they will be getting their upfront money in just days.
Third, you don’t have to take the risks or do the heavy lifting that a lawyer does. The lawyer must foot the sometimes very expensive bill to conduct the case, file a lot of paperwork, research a lot of boring casebooks, and wait to see if a jury buys their arguments…and possibly lose a lot of money. You, on the other hand, as an independent Case Broker just listen to someone’s story, input the story into your Dashboard, and wait to see if you are going to get some money…that’s it.
